Button

A disc that marks the dealer’s seat. It moves one seat left every hand, and the button acts last after the flop.

Example

On the button, everyone else acts before you on the flop, turn and river.

Also written: dealer button, btn, the button, dealer.

blinds Two forced bets posted before the cards are dealt, so every pot has something in it to win.
position Where you sit compared with the button, which decides when you act.
cutoff The seat just right of the button: the second-best seat at the table.
