How it works

Short lessons. Real progress.

  1. A Quads lesson asks Who wins? Ben’s hand is marked right, and the sheet under it says why: the kicker decides.

    Learn

Five-minute lessons. Tap an answer, get the reason.

  2. A lesson won in Quads: the table’s chip stack in the spotlight, Flawless for Best five of seven, the XP it earned and the rank bar on the way to Home Game Hero.

    Climb the ranks

Every lesson won drops a chip. Fifteen ranks to climb.

  3. A table won in Quads: Table 2 open, the Red table’s felt, How a Hand Plays, the XP earned and the new rank, Home Game Hero.

    Open new tables

Win a table, rank up, and the next one opens.

The climb

From your first hand to reading a range.

Six tables and 41 lessons, each table a colour of clay further up. Start with Welcome!, win a lesson and its chip is yours; win a table and the next one opens.

Played before? Say how much, and Quads starts you there.

Every answer

Right or wrong, you get the why.

The reason comes in one plain line, and the math is there when you want it. Back from your home game? Log a hand and see what your bets told the table.

A Quads answer after the question Who wins?: Ship it, with the reason, the top card ties so the next card (the kicker) decides, Ten beats Nine, and the math open: the hands compared, King against King, then Ten against Nine, so Ben wins.

The top card ties, so the next card (the kicker) decides.

On a tie

Past the basics

Read a range, not just a hand.

The top tables teach you to put a player on a range and narrow it bet by bet. In the Hall of Hands, play twenty famous hands from the pro’s seat, with the math behind every call.

Table 6 in a Quads lesson: Paint Omar’s range. Omar, a nit, raises 88+, AJs+, KQs and AQo+ from early position; the hands are painted on the grid, and the sheet says Well read: 13 squares, 82 combos.

A range is the list of hands someone could have.

The Arcade

Then take a seat at the table.

Sit down at a cash table with play chips and size every bet on one slider.

  • Five bots with tells
  • Beat the Table in ten hands
  • Opens after How a Hand Plays

Play chips only. No real money, ever.

The Arcade’s Micro cash table in the app: six seats with their play chips, your Jack and King of hearts on the button, and the bet slider open on a pot-sized raise to 7.

More than lessons

Then use it, every day.

A new hand each day, famous hands to replay, your own hands to log, and friends to climb with.

  • Hand of the Day

One new hand every day, a little harder as the week goes on. Read what your opponent holds, then call or fold. Everyone gets the same hand, so you can challenge a friend, and every past day is in the archive with its answer.

  • Twenty famous hands

Real hands from the World Series and big cash games, told street by street. Play each one from the pro’s seat, one decision at a time, and see what they did.

  • Log a hand

Back from your home game? Log a hand, see what your bets told the table, and tag the friends who were there.

  • Friends and leaderboards

Invite friends and see where you stand side by side: rank, lessons won, tables beaten and day streak. Weekly boards count XP, day streaks, hands read right and chips won, and you choose whether you appear on them.

Questions

Before you sit down.

What is Quads Poker?

Quads Poker is a free, Duolingo-style app for learning poker. You learn in five-minute lessons that climb from what beats what to position, pot odds and reading a range, and you can start at your level. It runs in your browser, on a phone or a computer.

Is Quads like Duolingo for poker?

In format, yes: short lessons, XP, a day streak, hearts and a path to climb. The poker is its own: the Arcade to play hands at a live table, famous hands to replay decision by decision, and the reason behind every answer. Quads is not affiliated with Duolingo. More on how it compares.

How long is a lesson?

About five minutes. Win a lesson and you earn XP and keep your day streak going, so a lesson fits a coffee break.

Is Quads free?

Yes. Every lesson, rank and table is free, and no card is needed. is an optional membership, $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year (or Founding, $99 once, for as long as Quads runs), that adds replays of your cash-table hands scored in chips, the math at your move, the Dealer’s read on every bot, your trends and the Dealer’s week, every hand you log kept, and a new look every month. Cancel it any time.

Is the Dealer an AI?

No. The Dealer follows fixed rules over your own record. It uses no model and sends nothing anywhere.

Can I cancel ?

Any time, in More › . You keep it until the end of the period you paid for.

What happens if I stop ?

Nothing is deleted. Your progress stays on your account; your Arcade hands, your answers and the hands you log stay on this device. The views go back to free, and your table goes back to the looks you’ve earned. Join again and it all comes back.

Is there real money?

No, never. Quads takes no bets and pays nothing out. The chips are for learning, and they stay on the table.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Quads runs in your browser, on a phone or a computer. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app, even offline.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free one, with Google or email. It keeps your lessons, rank and hands on every device.

I’ve played before. Do I start at zero?

No. Say how much you’ve played and answer a few quick questions, and Quads starts you there, with the tables before it already won. Anything you skip stays open.

Who is it for?

Adults, 18 and over, from first-timers to regulars who want to get sharper. Never held a hand? Start with the first lesson. Already play? Say how much, and Quads starts you further up the climb.

Your first hand is five minutes away.

Let’s go!

Start at the first card or at your own level. No real money, ever.
